| Operators must adapt, says Mintel
MINTEL'S latest report says that operators need to adapt to exploit the potential for growth in coach holidays.
According to Mintel, future success requires extolling the comfort and hasle-free aspects of coach holidays and promoting the green, environmental benefits of coaches over air travel.
the CTC says its members were already addressing the key issues raised by Mintel. “The continuing and substantial multi-million pound investment in new coaches, door-to-door collections, new product and huge improvements in service levels, highlight how coach operators are moving forward,” says CTC chief executive Chris Wales.
The report says the coach holiday market is expected to increase by 23 per cent at current prices to be worth an estimated £2.93billion by 2011 with passenger numbers rising from 8.2 million last year to 8.8 million.
The full Mintel report is available to CTC members at a discounted price of £1,350 if purchased before 31 May.
